Just a quick post to apologise for my lack of blogging. I am planning to start posting again soon. I have had such a busy time due to work, college & personal commitments. I've recently listed a few crafty items that can be bought for discounted prices through my etsy store ( please see link at top of page ) This is to fund current college costs & a new start up venture that I will blab more about when it is up and running :) Hope you are all well & happy. I will be back soon!

"Moo!"

No... I have'nt got 'mad-cow' desease although to those that know me they would beg to differ ;)
It's Weds and time for the 'aMOOzing' challenge at Skattykats which is to have a go at making some Moos.
Moos are small pieces of artwork that measure 2.8cm x 7cm
I did three in total using distress inkpads in broken china and peeled paint then I used a silhouette stamp, stamped and embossed with white embossing powder.
I mounted my moos on to a white card blank and simply stamped a  message to make a card
Please excuse the dodgy editing, I could'nt manage to depict the proper colour of the ink used without adjusting colour saturation/contrast and brightness *piffle* Anyhows... it's the best I could do.
While I had the inks out and I was gettin' down & dirty I could'nt resist messing and made another card, well, I'd made plenty of mess so figured I needed to justify it!
The background is broken china distress ink blended with a foam applicator tool and overstamped with a section of silhouette flowers stamp from hero arts using peeled paint distress ink pad dampened slightly with a sponge :O ...always forget to put misters down when I order my supplies...*double piffle*
A few punched butterflies - simples!
Before I go, I must confess to having a memory like a sieve of late & I forgot to mention that my eldest daughter drew Leann's name out of the hat on 30th April for the Memory Box Kit on  - congrats, hun! Please email me to confirm your addy :)
That's all for now, lovelies. x
TFL & hope you all have a great evening!

My Prize Goodies & Skattykats Challenge #12 Sketch Challenge

Hello All!
Just a quick post for now as these arrived today :)

....and guess who'll be going off to play just as soon as I've finished this post?! Mahoosive thanks to all at Hero Arts. oxo
Onto yesterday's challenge over at Skattykats which is a sketch, here's my card. It's not usually my taste in colours, in fact I'm sure I remember my gran once telling me, 'red & green should never be seen,' but whilst out walking the other day I stopped to admire the tulips - bright green stems, bright red blooms mixed with various shades of yellow from almost butter-cream to in your face-happy-smiley yellow....so I guess I was influenced for this one ;)
I used both Aqua promarkers & Promarkers for this one, yep, they work well together, heat set the outline image stamped with aqua markers and then colour with promarkers & no bleeding-brilliant!
Stamp from hero arts, ribbon from stash, cardstock DCWV, punch from stampin up.
Have a fabby afternoon & hope to be back again soon. Mwaaghh.x
*P.S. Don't forget to leave the letters MBK in your comment if you would like the chance to grab a Luke & Lola Memory Box Kit! (see post below) It ends tomorrow, so be quick!*

Blue Flutterby

Today I'm trying to get my crafty hoards organised which is no mean feat for me as I'm domestically challenged - being neat & tidy is not one of my strongest points! I somehow got sidetracked (as I do!) and decided to do the flutterby pic again, this time in blue with the flutterby a little smaller. I also changed the original pic as I like the smaller size in the frame, personally I think it looks more balanced. I used rangers distress ink in weathered wood for the background this time around. I only have a pic of the blue one today as my photo software has decided to play silly & refuses to work properly so apoligies for the poor quality pic!

I also have some good news to share, I was a 'fresh-face' winner for hero arts March 2010 spring challenge and get to choose some scrummy hero arts goodies :) It was a total shock for me, I usually pay a visit to their blog every day as part of my crafty fix and there was my lil ol' card up there for all to see! **blush** see here
Take a look at the other winners, I'm honoured to be amongst them, there are some beautiful cards that are simply stunning :)
Can't wait for my stuff to arrive, I must confess my fondness for HA stamps borders on obsession!
TFL & Happy Crfating :)

Butterfly Phase!

Wednesday has come around quickly again and it's time for another challenge over at Skattykats which is to make anything as long as it's NOT a card.

I made this pic which is surprisingly quick & easy to do and it now has pride of place on my kitchen wall :)

It's made from a cheap Ikea frame, painted white. The background was stamped with Antique Linen distress ink with Hero Arts 'Antique Brocade' stamp and the butterfly is part of Hero Arts digital kit 'flutterbies' the sentiment was stamped in black ink and is from HA 'Anytime Messages.' I added three small crystals to finish.

Methinks I will do a few more of these, maybe with a different butterfly image and change the background colour. I'll share if I do.

TFL and hope the sun is shining wherever you are,

Hi all!
Hope everyone is enjoying the Easter break. I'm on a real flyer... kids are off school and too much to do and so little time.
Here's my card for the challenge 'Wing it and Bling it' at Skattykats There are some doodlebug paper frills up for grabs. To be in with a chance to win them, just join in with the challenge over there.
Sorry about the poor pic, I did'nt have time to wait for the glitter to dry properly so it looks a bit ropey - ooer!
Supplies: hero arts clings - 3 butterflies and clear design - anytime messages, MME freebie mag papers, stickles, promarkers & swiss dots bazzill cardstock. 3" woodware scallop, circle punch, fiskars shape cutter and circle template.
