I am planning to start posting again soon. I have had such a busy time due to work, college & personal commitments. I've recently listed a few crafty items that can be bought for discounted prices through my etsy store ( please see link at top of page ) This is to fund current college costs & a new start up venture that I will blab more about when it is up and running :) Hope you are all well & happy. I will be back soon!Katty Bellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02397319025761512532noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9012741957525959366.post-62714325174151761302010-05-05T21:10:00.001+01:002010-05-05T21:15:58.385+01:00"Moo!"No... I have'nt got 'mad-cow' desease although to those that know me they would beg to differ ;)<br />
It's Weds and time for the 'aMOOzing' challenge at <a href="http://skattykatsblog.blogspot.com/2010/05/challenge-13-how-amoozing.html">Skattykats</a> which is to have a go at making some Moos.<br />
Moos are small pieces of artwork that measure 2.8cm x 7cm<br />
I did three in total using distress inkpads in broken china and peeled paint then I used a silhouette stamp, stamped and embossed with white embossing powder.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_jCrjw7PFTzI/S-GUmZ3rv5I/AAAAAAAAA4Y/aOaFoFRVag8/s1600/003moosblog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="256" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_jCrjw7PFTzI/S-GUmZ3rv5I/AAAAAAAAA4Y/aOaFoFRVag8/s320/003moosblog.jpg" tt="true" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I mounted my moos on to a white card blank and simply stamped a message to make a card </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_jCrjw7PFTzI/S-GUTVXaf_I/AAAAAAAAA4U/yQRg50zKrrg/s1600/005moocardblog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_jCrjw7PFTzI/S-GUTVXaf_I/AAAAAAAAA4U/yQRg50zKrrg/s320/005moocardblog.jpg" tt="true" width="259" /></a></div>Please excuse the dodgy editing, I could'nt manage to depict the proper colour of the ink used without adjusting colour saturation/contrast and brightness *piffle* Anyhows... it's the best I could do.<br />
While I had the inks out and I was gettin' down & dirty I could'nt resist messing and made another card, well, I'd made plenty of mess so figured I needed to justify it!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>Onto yesterday's challenge over at <a href="http://skattykatsblog.blogspot.com/2010/04/skattykats-challenge-12-sketch.html">Skattykats</a> which is a sketch, here's my card. It's not usually my taste in colours, in fact I'm sure I remember my gran once telling me, 'red & green should never be seen,' but whilst out walking the other day I stopped to admire the tulips - bright green stems, bright red blooms mixed with various shades of yellow from almost butter-cream to in your face-happy-smiley yellow....so I guess I was influenced for this one ;) <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jCrjw7PFTzI/S9mFod2Y5nI/AAAAAAAAA4I/0GBINutrdns/s1600/008blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jCrjw7PFTzI/S9mFod2Y5nI/AAAAAAAAA4I/0GBINutrdns/s320/008blog.jpg" tt="true" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I used both Aqua promarkers & Promarkers for this one, yep, they work well together, heat set the outline image stamped with aqua markers and then colour with promarkers & no bleeding-brilliant!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Stamp from hero arts, ribbon from stash, cardstock DCWV, punch from stampin up. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Have a fabby afternoon & hope to be back again soon. I somehow got sidetracked (as I do!) and decided to do the flutterby pic again, this time in blue with the flutterby a little smaller. I also changed the original pic as I like the smaller size in the frame, personally I think it looks more balanced. I used rangers distress ink in weathered wood for the background this time around. I only have a pic of the blue one today as my photo software has decided to play silly & refuses to work properly so apoligies for the poor quality pic!</div><br /><div>I also have some good news to share, I was a 'fresh-face' winner for hero arts March 2010 spring challenge and get to choose some scrummy hero arts goodies :) It was a total shock for me, I usually pay a visit to their <a href="http://heroarts.com/blogs/club/">blog</a> every day as part of my crafty fix and there was my lil ol' card up there for all to see! **blush** see <a href="http://heroarts.com/blogs/club/2010/04/08/more-march-winners/">here</a> </div><div>Take a look at the other winners, I'm honoured to be amongst them, there are some beautiful cards that are simply stunning :)</div><div> </div><div>Can't wait for my stuff to arrive, I must confess my fondness for HA stamps borders on obsession! </div><div>TFL & Happy Crfating :)</div><div>Kat.x<br /></div><div></div>Katty Bellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02397319025761512532noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9012741957525959366.post-83788025206847686632010-04-07T15:01:00.005+01:002010-04-07T18:13:45.482+01:00Butterfly Phase!<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_jCrjw7PFTzI/S7yUned7JyI/AAAAAAAAA2s/09lCb_Oj6r8/s1600/007flickr.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 250px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5457400254380582690" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_jCrjw7PFTzI/S7yUned7JyI/AAAAAAAAA2s/09lCb_Oj6r8/s320/007flickr.jpg" /></a><br /><div>Wednesday has come around quickly again and it's time for another challenge over at <a href="http://skattykatsblog.blogspot.com/2010/04/challenge-10-no-cards-allowed.html">Skattykats</a> which is to make anything as long as it's <span style="color:#cc0000;">NOT</span> a card. </div><br /><div>I made this pic which is surprisingly quick & easy to do and it now has pride of place on my kitchen wall :) </div><br /><div>It's made from a cheap Ikea frame, painted white. The background was stamped with Antique Linen distress ink with Hero Arts 'Antique Brocade' stamp and the butterfly is part of Hero Arts digital kit 'flutterbies' the sentiment was stamped in black ink and is from HA 'Anytime Messages.' I added three small crystals to finish. </div><br /><div>Methinks I will do a few more of these, maybe with a different butterfly image and change the background colour. Hope you all had a fab day. </div><br /><br /><div>This is the card I made for my mum, what a kerfuffle I had trying to make this work! I'd coloured this lovely bunny stamp from LOTV a few days ago and was patting myself on the back for being ahead of myself for once... Off I toddle thinking, put it together with some pretty papers - no problem.... how wrong can you get? I could'nt get anything that seemed to work and turned my house upside down in search of the elusive backing papers! Finally laid my hands on some and set to matting and sticking. My finished card stood pround on my worktop and photo shoot followed and then the trouble started, again! Crikey! has anyone else had trouble editing yellow tones alongside pinks and green? Nothing I tried seemed to depict the colours properly.... after much cussing and near tears I decided to give up and make do, so here it is. I must admit all the fretting faffing was worth it in the end and I am a 'Happy Bunny' once again :) </div><br /><br /><div>I'm entering this for this weeks sketch challenge over at <a href="http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.com/">Papertake Weekly</a> and </div><br /><br /><div><a href="http://daringcardmakers.blogspot.com/">Daring Cardmakers </a>'A Host of Golden Daffodils' </div><br /><br /><div>Supplies: LOTV 'Spring bunny with daffs' grab it <a href="http://www.liliofthevalley.co.uk/acatalog/Stamp_-_Spring_Bunny_with_Daffodils.html">here</a>, promarkers, computer generated sentiments, prima flowers, bling cardstock in pink and green and double-sided chatterbox papers from the eclectique collection, 'Sunny' & 'Just Be' on special offer <a href="http://www.skattykats.co.uk/chatterbox-eclectique-collection-91-c.asp">here </a></div><br /><br /><div>Right - I'm off to relax now and enjoy the rest of my evening :)</div><br /><br /><div>TFL</div><br /><br /><div>Kat.x </div><br /><br /><div></div></div>Katty Bellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02397319025761512532noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9012741957525959366.post-74063005529054748722010-03-11T08:13:00.007+00:002010-03-11T09:35:10.894+00:00Think Spring SKTS Challenge 6 & Stampavie<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_jCrjw7PFTzI/S5ipDN1M5vI/AAAAAAAAA1U/quAzYQCCWbk/s1600-h/004springblog2.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5447289622022121202" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_jCrjw7PFTzI/S5ipDN1M5vI/AAAAAAAAA1U/quAzYQCCWbk/s320/004springblog2.jpg" /></a><br /><div>There is a challenge over at <a href="http://skattykatsblog.blogspot.com/">Skattykats</a> with the chance to win <a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_wUthmm1mSzM/S4-CIlhO8iI/AAAAAAAAASo/kimdERcZsI8/s1600-h/007blogmprize.jpg">these</a> papers, blooms and ribbons. My card was inspired by this card <a href="http://www.heroarts.com/cardmaking/cardIdea.cfm?cardID=3952&catID=2">here</a> by Sally Traidman. </div><div>I used some freebies from this months Cardmaking & Papercraft mag... these papers are beautiful, from MME no less! I normally don't do freebies from magazines, but these are a big hit... good quality, lovely designs/colours (yes, I even stroked and smelt them?!) and I'm sure I'll be using them a lot in future :)</div><div>Buttons & ribbon were from my own stash, flowers from prima. I have become a big fan of promarkers lately, not only are they good for illustration and colouring stamped images, they are great for altering the colour of many things such as certain ribbons, flowers, gems etc. I'm sure not everything will work well all of the time but, what the heck! I have fun experimenting :) </div>Katty Bellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02397319025761512532noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9012741957525959366.post-9750514477990884922010-02-03T23:28:00.007+00:002010-02-04T08:12:35.821+00:00Skattykats Challenge Week 2<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_jCrjw7PFTzI/S2oR7_xoLtI/AAAAAAAAA0o/du49shZ0VQo/s1600-h/colour+challenge+red+black+whites.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 319px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5434175622805466834" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_jCrjw7PFTzI/S2oR7_xoLtI/AAAAAAAAA0o/du49shZ0VQo/s320/colour+challenge+red+black+whites.jpg" /></a> Here's my card for <a href="http://skattykatsblog.blogspot.com/2010/02/week-2-colour-challenge.html">Skattykats</a> colour challenge for this week.... I think the text stamp is an Inca Stamp which I used for the chipboard heart too, just using part of the stamp (selective inking) & stampin up spots ink. The background paper is made using a teeny stamp from a hero arts set and coloured with ink from stamp pad. My craft knife needs replacing so because of this and a little accident with my black ink pad I grunged it up a bit, accidently on purpose!<br />Thanks for having a peek :)<br />Kat.x<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jCrjw7PFTzI/S1h0dBPOFnI/AAAAAAAAAzU/5GiCzIRLwiM/s1600-h/pink+valentine+blog.jpg"></a></div></div></div>Katty Bellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02397319025761512532noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9012741957525959366.post-8361481113412425072010-01-18T13:13:00.008+00:002010-01-18T13:29:12.929+00:00Final Instalment TGFT!<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_jCrjw7PFTzI/S1RhPU3M-DI/AAAAAAAAAzM/YR7LhOpRt3g/s1600-h/071blg.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 319px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5428070366814468146" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_jCrjw7PFTzI/S1RhPU3M-DI/AAAAAAAAAzM/YR7LhOpRt3g/s320/071blg.jpg" /></a><br /><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jCrjw7PFTzI/S1RhPOzCOVI/AAAAAAAAAzE/rqpmPYrO8-g/s1600-h/074.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 319px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5428070365186373970" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jCrjw7PFTzI/S1RhPOzCOVI/AAAAAAAAAzE/rqpmPYrO8-g/s320/074.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_jCrjw7PFTzI/S1Rg6X6E6tI/AAAAAAAAAy8/m54cxYEXgFY/s1600-h/070blg.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5428070006854576850" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_jCrjw7PFTzI/S1Rg6X6E6tI/AAAAAAAAAy8/m54cxYEXgFY/s320/070blg.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jCrjw7PFTzI/S1RgvWmJtuI/AAAAAAAAAy0/MIiiIGJLkBs/s1600-h/067blg.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5428069817524008674" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jCrjw7PFTzI/S1RgvWmJtuI/AAAAAAAAAy0/MIiiIGJLkBs/s320/067blg.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jCrjw7PFTzI/S1RgYE-nPPI/AAAAAAAAAys/UVRpNxu6pCw/s1600-h/066blg.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5428069417657777394" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jCrjw7PFTzI/S1RgYE-nPPI/AAAAAAAAAys/UVRpNxu6pCw/s320/066blg.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div>Here's the last of my Christmas cards out of the way.
