"Moo!"

No... I have'nt got 'mad-cow' desease although to those that know me they would beg to differ ;)
It's Weds and time for the 'aMOOzing' challenge at Skattykats which is to have a go at making some Moos.
Moos are small pieces of artwork that measure 2.8cm x 7cm
I did three in total using distress inkpads in broken china and peeled paint then I used a silhouette stamp, stamped and embossed with white embossing powder.
I mounted my moos on to a white card blank and simply stamped a  message to make a card
Please excuse the dodgy editing, I could'nt manage to depict the proper colour of the ink used without adjusting colour saturation/contrast and brightness *piffle* Anyhows... it's the best I could do.
While I had the inks out and I was gettin' down & dirty I could'nt resist messing and made another card, well, I'd made plenty of mess so figured I needed to justify it!
The background is broken china distress ink blended with a foam applicator tool and overstamped with a section of silhouette flowers stamp from hero arts using peeled paint distress ink pad dampened slightly with a sponge :O ...always forget to put misters down when I order my supplies...*double piffle*
A few punched butterflies - simples!
Before I go, I must confess to having a memory like a sieve of late & I forgot to mention that my eldest daughter drew Leann's name out of the hat on 30th April for the Memory Box Kit on  - congrats, hun! Please email me to confirm your addy :)
That's all for now, lovelies. x
TFL & hope you all have a great evening!

My Prize Goodies & Skattykats Challenge #12 Sketch Challenge

Hello All!
Just a quick post for now as these arrived today :)

....and guess who'll be going off to play just as soon as I've finished this post?! Mahoosive thanks to all at Hero Arts. oxo
Onto yesterday's challenge over at Skattykats which is a sketch, here's my card. It's not usually my taste in colours, in fact I'm sure I remember my gran once telling me, 'red & green should never be seen,' but whilst out walking the other day I stopped to admire the tulips - bright green stems, bright red blooms mixed with various shades of yellow from almost butter-cream to in your face-happy-smiley yellow....so I guess I was influenced for this one ;)
I used both Aqua promarkers & Promarkers for this one, yep, they work well together, heat set the outline image stamped with aqua markers and then colour with promarkers & no bleeding-brilliant!
Stamp from hero arts, ribbon from stash, cardstock DCWV, punch from stampin up.
Have a fabby afternoon & hope to be back again soon. Mwaaghh.x
*P.S. Don't forget to leave the letters MBK in your comment if you would like the chance to grab a Luke & Lola Memory Box Kit! (see post below) It ends tomorrow, so be quick!*

Blue Flutterby

Today I'm trying to get my crafty hoards organised which is no mean feat for me as I'm domestically challenged - being neat & tidy is not one of my strongest points! I somehow got sidetracked (as I do!) and decided to do the flutterby pic again, this time in blue with the flutterby a little smaller. I also changed the original pic as I like the smaller size in the frame, personally I think it looks more balanced. I used rangers distress ink in weathered wood for the background this time around. I only have a pic of the blue one today as my photo software has decided to play silly & refuses to work properly so apoligies for the poor quality pic!

I also have some good news to share, I was a 'fresh-face' winner for hero arts March 2010 spring challenge and get to choose some scrummy hero arts goodies :) It was a total shock for me, I usually pay a visit to their blog every day as part of my crafty fix and there was my lil ol' card up there for all to see! **blush** see here
Take a look at the other winners, I'm honoured to be amongst them, there are some beautiful cards that are simply stunning :)
Can't wait for my stuff to arrive, I must confess my fondness for HA stamps borders on obsession!
TFL & Happy Crfating :)

Butterfly Phase!

Wednesday has come around quickly again and it's time for another challenge over at Skattykats which is to make anything as long as it's NOT a card.

I made this pic which is surprisingly quick & easy to do and it now has pride of place on my kitchen wall :)

It's made from a cheap Ikea frame, painted white. The background was stamped with Antique Linen distress ink with Hero Arts 'Antique Brocade' stamp and the butterfly is part of Hero Arts digital kit 'flutterbies' the sentiment was stamped in black ink and is from HA 'Anytime Messages.' I added three small crystals to finish.

Methinks I will do a few more of these, maybe with a different butterfly image and change the background colour. I'll share if I do.

TFL and hope the sun is shining wherever you are,

Lilac & Lemon Pixie

Hi Folks!

Just thought I'd sneek this one in rather sharpish for the current Papertake Weekly Challenge - Lilac & Lemon. Only just got this done in time.

This little cutie has been patiently waiting to be inked up & I finally got a little bit of 'me time' this afty to mess with my crafty goodies :)
Supplies: C.C. Design Swiss Pixie Birgitta stamp from Skattykats and coloured with AQUA promarkers
Backing Paper is Chatterbox Eclectique 'Sunny'
Stamped sentiment from Hero Arts Clear Design set 'Whoo Loves You'
Cardstock and embroidery thread is ages old and from my personal stash... oh and nearly forgot the smattering of diamond stickles around sentiment and on wings.
I'm quite struck on hand stitching at the mo, why? I do not know... I do find it very therapeutic & relaxing, though :)

I'm A Happy Bunny - Finally!

Happy Mums Day! Hope you all had a fab day.

This is the card I made for my mum, what a kerfuffle I had trying to make this work! I'd coloured this lovely bunny stamp from LOTV a few days ago and was patting myself on the back for being ahead of myself for once... Off I toddle thinking, put it together with some pretty papers - no problem.... how wrong can you get? I could'nt get anything that seemed to work and turned my house upside down in search of the elusive backing papers! Finally laid my hands on some and set to matting and sticking. My finished card stood pround on my worktop and photo shoot followed and then the trouble started, again! Crikey! has anyone else had trouble editing yellow tones alongside pinks and green? Nothing I tried seemed to depict the colours properly.... after much cussing and near tears I decided to give up and make do, so here it is. I must admit all the fretting faffing was worth it in the end and I am a 'Happy Bunny' once again :)

I'm entering this for this weeks sketch challenge over at Papertake Weekly and

Daring Cardmakers 'A Host of Golden Daffodils'

Supplies: LOTV 'Spring bunny with daffs' grab it here, promarkers, computer generated sentiments, prima flowers, bling cardstock in pink and green and double-sided chatterbox papers from the eclectique collection, 'Sunny' & 'Just Be' on special offer here

Right - I'm off to relax now and enjoy the rest of my evening :)

You can get the stamp here

Make It For Mum

Hiya!

Mums Day is not far away... looking forward to that one, it does'nt matter what I get or don't get, I just love Mothering Sunday as it reminds me of why I wanted to be a mum ... Lol! Just remember that, next time your kids have dumped the whole of their wardrobes contents on the bedroom floor, or told you with half a days notice that they need a costume running up for the school play, or stood there with the 'Kevin & Perry' stance & told you, 'It's so Unfair!' before stomping off in a stroppy huff... oh yes, this applies to girls too you know, not just the boys!

Heh-heh! Would'nt be without my mischievious little poppets, not for the world... I love them to pieces, really ;)

Here's my card for the latest Skattykats challenge 'Make It For Mum' which can be found here You can find some of the products I used for this challenge here

There is also a iddy bit of blog candy up for grabs too!

Supplies: Craftwork Cards card blank, Hero Arts Sparkle Clear stamps 'You're the Best,' MME 6x6 Wild-Asparagus Papers, Promarkers & Cherry Arte Chipboard Alpha Sheet.

Skattykats Challenge Week 3

Here's my take for this week's challenge at Skattykats. The challenge is a recipe: 3 flowers/blooms, 3 buttons & 1 ribbon. My card was inspired by this card here by Sally Traidman.
I used some freebies from this months Cardmaking & Papercraft mag... these papers are beautiful, from MME no less! I normally don't do freebies from magazines, but these are a big hit... good quality, lovely designs/colours (yes, I even stroked and smelt them?!) and I'm sure I'll be using them a lot in future :)
Buttons & ribbon were from my own stash, flowers from prima. I have become a big fan of promarkers lately, not only are they good for illustration and colouring stamped images, they are great for altering the colour of many things such as certain ribbons, flowers, gems etc. I'm sure not everything will work well all of the time but, what the heck! I have fun experimenting :)

Skattykats Challenge Week 2

Here's my card for Skattykats colour challenge for this week.... Red, Black & White.
I may need to re-edit this at some point as the red is not true to real life.

This was quick & simple to make, I had fun with some white embossing powder, I think I'll be getting it out some more and stocking up on it :)

Pop over there as there is a design team call with two spaces to fill for the next 3 months starting towards the end of Feb through until April and I'd love to come and see your creations :)

Pretty Pink

Here's a card I rustled up for this week's Papertake Weekly challenge - Pretty Pink
I used just stamps and cardstock for this one, some dotty ribbon & a chipboard heart. I think the text stamp is an Inca Stamp which I used for the chipboard heart too, just using part of the stamp (selective inking) & stampin up spots ink. The background paper is made using a teeny stamp from a hero arts set and coloured with ink from stamp pad. My craft knife needs replacing so because of this and a little accident with my black ink pad I grunged it up a bit, accidently on purpose!
Thanks for having a peek :)

Final Instalment TGFT!

Here's the last of my Christmas cards out of the way. As much as I like Christmas I can put it to rest now. The sun is shining, the birds are singing and it all seems such a long time ago already! Now it's back to my little hidey-hole to see if I can rustle up anything interesting ;)

More Christmas Makes

Two more designs of Christmas cards from 2009. Stamps used are doodlebug along with some old DCWV card/papers.
And now I am off to do another little stint of tidying my crafty mess, who knows what I will come across!?

More Christmas cards

Another quick share. Just a couple more from the pile of cards made for Christmas. Sorry about the poor photos, they were taken hastily and in very poor light. I'll pop a few more when I get a spare minute or two. I am a busy bunny at the mo, hoping to get some me time soon and catch up with all my favourite blogs :)

Snuggly & Cuddly

Could'nt resist sharing this one...."I'm tired after all that snowfilled fun, think I'll just rest a while." The cat had no such excuse, Daisy does what cats do best.... sleep and look adorably cute :)

Snow much fun!

This pic was taken a few days before christmas when we had our heaviest snow fall of winter. Phoebe and Leoni enjoying a snowball fight....mum was the victor of the evening, once my camera battery conked out I went outside and whooped their proverbials!

Joy & Celebrate

Helloooo! Just a quickie before I go and brave the school run. I did manage to make some cards over the festive season, but never got round to uploading them, so I thought I'd share a few with you over the next few days. Here's the first two made for my youngest daughter's headmaster & form teacher. Headmaster gave me a gold star for his ..lol!
